It has been over a year since 82 percent of Titusville voters voted in FAVOR of the Right To Clean Water Amendment! Your City Council has NOT done their duty and certified the election!
Instead they sue our non-profit Speak Up Titusville, they sued their own citizens and set aside $150,000 to do so! That’s YOUR tax money folks! We are paying our lawyer.
Two different judges have told the city they HAVE NO CASE!
At the last City Council Meeting Herman Cole made the motion that the city appeals and keeps fighting us and wasting your money. Sarah Stoeckle and JoLynn Nelson voted in favor.
Their request for appeal was denied!
When will they do their duty and certify? We need clean water now.

We got over 4,000 Titusville Voters to sign petitions asking that the Right to Clean Water be placed on the ballot in November for us to vote on. We followed the legal process. The city council voted to place it on the ballot on August 9, 2022. But…… They had an “emergency meeting” on August 14th to see if the outside lawyer they hired with our tax dollars can get a judge to preemptively strike down the ballot measure. That didn’t work but we had to pay a lawyer to fight it.
The first judge informed the city of Titusville’s outside lawyer that they were in violation of the law and their excuses for not certifying the results of the November election were complete B.S. (in lawyer talk, “specious.”) Titusville’s City Council then voted to have a “Shade Meeting” to plot their “strategy.” This means they have a secret meeting with no information going to the voters. Shade Meetings can get around Florida’s Sunshine Law.

They are appealing the first judge’s ruling. We, Speak Up Titusville are fighting the appeal.
